🏅 Breaking records AND breaking rules at the Olympics? Now that's what I call a gold medal performance! The Paris Olympics didn't just see athletes smashing world records. They smashed a major barrier for parent-athletes: introducing a childcare room in the Olympic Village.Gone are the days of medal-winning moms hunting for spare rooms to nurse their littles (I'm looking at you, Tokyo 2021). Now, they've got private rooms for lactating mothers and a dedicated space for athlete-parents to care for their kids.👏 Shoutout to the rule-breakers who made this happen: judo champ Clarisse Agbegnenou, runner Allyson Felix, and kayaker Edina Müller.Thing is, the Olympics, like most workplaces, were built by men, for men. We've inched towards gender parity, but the infrastructure? Still playing catch-up.Imagine your industry's biggest conference providing nursing rooms. Or your work trips covering childcare costs. Feels far-fetched, doesn't it?The hard truth? If we want ALL people to excel professionally - whether it's snagging Olympic gold or leading Fortune 500 companies - we need to face reality. There's a high chance they'll need to juggle caregiving with that important work. The Olympic Village care room is what breaking the rules looks like. That's progress. Now, I'm curious. How has your organization broken the rules to support those typically left out?Share your stories below! Let's celebrate the Rule Breakers making work work for everyone. 👇#WorkplaceEquality #ParentAthletes #BreakingBarriers #OlympicProgress #workingparent

I wrote over 6,000 words to get to a finished 368. If you've been working hard on something - know that your multi-page spreadsheet to get a few numbers or the many lines of code to do one thing - is worth it if you're growing and learning.Sending good energy and hopes for a restful weekend!

When you read it this way - it seems ridiculous there isn't more for working caregivers!

After 5 years of WFH, I stepped into an office today. Plot twist: I loved it.While I'm a big fan of remote work, spending the day at ProducKIDvity new co-working spot reminded me of what I'd been missing:🧺 No mental juggling of laundry loads or dinner prep👔 Dusting off my "hard pants" (okay, stretchy jeans) and jewelry that's been feeling neglected👯♀️ Flashbacks to 15 years of office camaraderie - the peers-turned-friends, the smiles, the learningOld habits die hard - I still ate at my desk. But I did squeeze in a 20-minute afternoon walk. Baby steps, right? It's funny how a change of scenery can shift your perspective. Whether you're Team WFH, Team Office, or somewhere in between, what matters is finding what works for YOU.What's your ideal work setup? And for those who've made the leap back to an office - what surprised you most?#WorkLifeBalance #OfficeLife #RemoteWork #CareerGrowth

It's a shame Elena Brandt got kicked out of a Female Founders event at Y Combinator because she had her baby with her. We can do WAY better in tech mixing 👶 and 🤖. Sure - we can have childcare lined up for events. Or, we could hold things at reasonable hours for parents. But I know that is a stretch for many event organizers. At the very least, don't ask participants to leave if they do have a kid who is not disrupting things, like they did to Elena. Here is another zero cost, 100% gain thing we can do... 👏 Let attendees know that kids are welcome 👏.Put it in your event details, make a note about it at the beginning of the event, give a shout out to the person that brought the mini-human.We've made up this crazy rule that work and kids shall not be mixed. That worked when you had one person at the office and one person at home. Now, the majority of families have both parents working. And caregiving is inconvenient.I brought my three month old daughter to SaaStock in Ireland and had such a warm welcome. When I hosted Fuckup Nights, we had a parent that brought her baby and she got LOTS of props. We can do so much better to integrate career and caregiving without harm to the outcomes of either.Let's do it.#workingparent #worklifebalance #femalefounders

Feeling awesome to have positive feedback roll in for my peer sessions for working parents. 'Cause being an uber professional + the parent we want to be is a *thing* - and I'm hoping to help.I created this course for working parents because I realized the current game we're playing sets us up for overwhelm. You know the game - get a great job, be that stellar parent, keep it all looking like I've got it under control. The better you do at all those things the more points you get.But I noticed something. It actually is awfully hard to play by the rules and not feel absolutely drowning in "shoulds" and self doubt.So... I started breaking some rules. I started defining what "good" looks like for my career, caregiving and self-care.If you're curious about what those rules are and what Rule Breakers are doing, do join us!!#workingparent #momlife #overwhelm #burnout #RuleBreaker--> We're doing it again in September so if you're thinking you could get rid of the cycle of overwhelm then DM me. I can share more info / answer qs. <--
