I wrote over 6,000 words to get to a finished 368. If you've been working hard on something - know that your multi-page spreadsheet to get a few numbers or the many lines of code to do one thing - is worth it if you're growing and learning.Sending good energy and hopes for a restful weekend!

After 5 years of WFH, I stepped into an office today. Plot twist: I loved it.While I'm a big fan of remote work, spending the day at ProducKIDvity new co-working spot reminded me of what I'd been missing:🧺 No mental juggling of laundry loads or dinner prep👔 Dusting off my "hard pants" (okay, stretchy jeans) and jewelry that's been feeling neglected👯♀️ Flashbacks to 15 years of office camaraderie - the peers-turned-friends, the smiles, the learningOld habits die hard - I still ate at my desk. But I did squeeze in a 20-minute afternoon walk. Baby steps, right?It's funny how a change of scenery can shift your perspective. It's a shame Elena Brandt got kicked out of a Female Founders event at Y Combinator because she had her baby with her. We can do WAY better in tech mixing 👶 and 🤖. Sure - we can have childcare lined up for events. Or, we could hold things at reasonable hours for parents. But I know that is a stretch for many event organizers.At the very least, don't ask participants to leave if they do have a kid who is not disrupting things, like they did to Elena. Here is another zero cost, 100% gain thing we can do... 👏 Let attendees know that kids are welcome 👏.Put it in your event details, make a note about it at the beginning of the event, give a shout out to the person that brought the mini-human.We've made up this crazy rule that work and kids shall not be mixed. That worked when you had one person at the office and one person at home.Now, the majority of families have both parents working. And caregiving is inconvenient.I brought my three month old daughter to SaaStock in Ireland and had such a warm welcome.When I hosted f*ckup Nights, we had a parent that brought her baby and she got LOTS of props.We can do so much better to integrate career and caregiving without harm to the outcomes of either.Let's do it.#workingparent #worklifebalance #femalefounders

Feeling awesome to have positive feedback roll in for my peer sessions for working parents. 'Cause being an uber professional + the parent we want to be is a *thing* - and I'm hoping to help.I created this course for working parents because I realized the current game we're playing sets us up for overwhelm.You know the game - get a great job, be that stellar parent, keep it all looking like I've got it under control. The better you do at all those things the more points you get.But I noticed something. It actually is awfully hard to play by the rules and not feel absolutely drowning in "shoulds" and self doubt.So... I started breaking some rules.
