What is the success rate of the Oxford House? ›

Oxford Houses have an 80% success rate, nationally.

A recovering individual can live in an Oxford House for as long as he or she does not drink alcohol, does not use drugs, and pays an equal share of the house expenses. the average stay is a little over a year, but many residents stay three, four, or more years. There is no pressure on anyone in good standing to leave.

A key difference between an Oxford House and many other sober living environments is that there is no maximum length of stay. Residents can live in the home as long as they don't drink alcohol nor use drugs and they pay their share of expenses.

The philosophy behind Oxford House is three-fold: [1] self-help is the bedrock of recovery, [2] disciplined democracy is key to living together, and [3] self-support builds efficacy in sobriety comfortable enough to avoid relapse.

How many people get rejected from Oxford and Cambridge universities each year? Looking at the stats for Oxford, around 10% of applicants don't enrol after getting an offer. However, the Cambridge stats seem to be much, much higher - around 22%.

The first responsibility of any Oxford House is to enforce sobriety. that a relapsing member does not simply move from one house to another. On the other hand, once a relapsing member regains sobriety, it may be advisable for him to "start over" in another house in the area if it has room.

An Oxford House charter has three basic requirements for the group: it must be democratically self-run, • it must be financially self-supported, and • it must expel any resident who returns to using alcohol or drugs.

The house is dirty inside and out. • There is no participation in chapter or other Oxford House activities. • Individuals are not working or are not practicing an active program of recovery.
